3.3 TL1 Acknowledgment
An acknowledgment is a brief TL1
output message from the NE to an OSS acknowledging the receipt of a request.
It updates the user on the status of a given command. Acknowledgment should
be issued if the normal response to a message will be delayed longer than
two seconds.
TL1 acknowledgment can take the following
format:
acknowledgment_code
ctag terminator
An example for acknowledgment message
is
OK 12345

12345 - ctag, greater than symbol > - terminator
3.3.1 Acknowledgment code
Standard TL1 acknowledgment codes
are
- IP: In Progress
- PF: Printout follows (identical
to IP)
- OK: All right
- NA: No acknowledgment
- NG: No Good
- RL: Repeat Later system busy
3.3.2 CTAG
Refers to the correlation tag of
the input message to which this acknowledgment is made.
3.3.3 Terminator
TL1 acknowledgments always end with
greater than symbol > terminator.
